Nee matumae en nenjil nirkirai by perumal murugan (Raag Kaapi)
I happened to listen to this song very recently, where T.M. Krishna has given life to the most beautiful lyrics written by perumal murugan in the Raag kaapi.
Most of the songs I have heard in raag kaapi were normally used to bring out a sense of sadness since the tune were in slow or in medium speed. (As far as I know with the limited knowledge I have about music).This raag has the magic of touching the soul and stir up the emotions and take us to the whole different world.
I have always had the divine experience of listening to this raag but it was quite surprising when the emotions of love sung in this raag was even more magical and mesmerizing when I heard “Nee matumae nenjil nirkirai”, not sure was that because of the lyrics or the raag or TM Krishna.
The poem describes she/he immensely in love that she/he couldn’t think of anyone/ anything else other that their love of life!
